Concordia College’s education programs needed a powerful and easy-to-use assessment platform to integrate with edTPA™ and its teacher education curriculum. Ultimately, the College wanted to demonstrate that its graduates were ready to enter the teaching profession.
DATA180 and the College’s faculty and administrators customized FOLIO180’s assessment management system to collect subject-specific work (video clips of instruction, lesson plans, student work, analysis of student learning, and reflective narratives) and deliver the materials to edTPA™ for evaluation. As a result, FOLIO180 allowed each student an easy way to provide documentation of her/his readiness to teach the related subject matter, based on state and national standards.
The relationship between Concordia and Data180 is an essential component to our success at meeting state requirements for teacher education programs. Data180’s leadership and technical staff are highly responsive, engaged, and very real problem solvers. – Bruce Vieweg, Associate Vice President/Chief Information Officer
MSU’s College of Education wanted to assess the learning and readiness of education students and to generate reports to support its accreditation with CAEP. Key objectives were to make the system easy to use for students and faculty members.
DATA180 and the College’s administrators tailored FOLIO180 to meet its assessment needs. Administrators were happy because FOLIO180 was an elegant, robust assessment solution. Students were happy because they could build portfolios and submit their work faster and easier. Faculty members were happy because the system saved them time and was easier to use because they could juror student work without logging in and without having to navigate an additional system.
